NTA has announced that the SHRESHTA 2026 exam will be held on December 21, 2025. The application deadline has been extended to November 9, 2025, giving candidates more time to register.

NTA SHRESHTA Exam Date 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notice that the Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Schools in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA) 2026 exam will be held on December 21, 2025 . This national-level entrance exam is designed to support the meritorious Scheduled Caste (SC) students by offering them to get admission in the leading residential schools across the country in classes 9 and 11.

The exam evaluates the candidates’ knowledge and skills in subjects such as Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. The selected students receive full financial assistance covering the cost of tuition, boarding, and other related expenses of education in a comprehensive learning environment.

The NTA has announced an extension for the submission of online application forms for SHRESHTA (NETS) 2026 examination, giving aspirants an additional time to complete registration. As per the revised schedule, the extended last date for submission of applications is November 9, 2025 . The candidates who have already submitted their application form are also allowed to make corrections in their application details under the new window, available from November 11 and 12, 2025 . Corrections in particulars can be made online at the official website — shreshta.ntaonline.in .

NTA SHRESHTA 2026: Exam pattern and syllabus

The SHRESHTA (NETS) 2026 examination will be conducted in offline mode, and the questions will be based on the subjects of the previous class syllabus.

  • The examination will be an objective type (Multiple Choice Questions).

  • Students will be given three hours to write the test.

  • The question paper will be available in Hindi & English.

  • Subjects include Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and General Knowledge.

  • There is equal marking for all the questions, and no negative marking.

  • The syllabus is based NCERT curriculum of Class 8 and 10.
