Bikash Das, the son of a daily wager cleared JEE Advanced 2017 examination by securing AIR 582 under SC i.e. Scheduled Caste category. He hails from a backward village in Jagatsingpur district of Odisha. Now, he has become eligible to secure a seat at the Indian Institute of Technology or IIT. Bikash Das was not an English medium student since childhood. He completed primary and higher education in his village. Bikash Das was good in academics and had an enthusiasm to reach a higher level in his career.

Expressing happiness on his son’s achievement, Bikash’s father revealed that he is a farm labourer. Unless he goes into field regularly, it is difficult to earn a livelihood. He prioritised the education of his son and motivated him. Bikash showed an exceptional performance in academics at Manapur Upper Primary School.

Bikash’s father has been working for many years as a farm labourer and saved money for his son’s education. He felt happy and extremely proud as his son stepped an inch closer to making it to IIT.
Revealing his secret of success, Bikash said that his father was his guide, philosopher and inspiration. He worked hard in the fields to financially supported his education. Even though they were in acute poverty, Bikash’s father never let his son feel the circumstances first hand and encouraged him to achieve greater heights in life. Therefore, Bikash mentioned that his secret of success is his father. Parental support with hard work along with dedication paved the way for success.
Finally, Bikash clarified that there is no shortcut for achieving success.
