University College of Engineering, Osmania University has allowed its students to go for full-time internships in the industry during their final semester.
The colleges have also made changes to its curriculum and have decided to allow the students to go for full-time internships to increase their employability and equip them with the latest skills as per the industry trends.
Students who are planning to pursue the internship will have to appear in the examination which will be followed by three technical interview rounds. Students who clear all the rounds will be allowed to take up full-time internships.

The college allowed the student to go for full-time internships after several companies insisted that the college authorities do the same. Students who are selected for the same will have to complete their final semester subjects by choosing them from the Swayam portal or can also do the same through the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning.
V Uma Maheshwar, Placement Officer and Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Osmania University said that the internship will equip final semester students with industry-related skills. They will also get the stipend between Rs.25,000 to Rs.40,000 per month.

Every year, 10 new companies visit the University College of Engineering, OU, for the campus placement drive. Students get offers from companies such as Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, Deloitte and others.
