PEC University Likely to Change its Name to Punjab Engineering College

As per the recent guidelines issued by the HRD Ministry, PEC University has no option but to change its name to Punjab Engineering College. According to the guidelines, deemed universities should not have the university tag in its name while it can mention ‘deemed-to-be-varsity’ in the brackets. Following this change, the varsity will have to change its logo, website URL, hoardings and others in which PEC has been mentioned as PEC University.

Experts feel that the change in name will affect its branding. People who are associated with PEC will be kept in the loop if the name is changed. For common people, change in name will create confusion. PEC will have to create a market identity with the new name.
