Chief Minister of Haryana, Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar has announced that YMCA University of Science and Technology (Faridabad) would be named after a renowned scientist Jagadish Chandra Bose. The Honourable CM has also given his approval for the expansion of university over an area of 60 to 65 acres. The Chief Minister was addressing at the two-day Science Conclave organised by YMCA University to mark the Swarna Jayanti celebrations. On this occasion, Mr. Manohar Lal made these significant announcements.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Manohar Lal pointed that the contributions made by Jagadish Chandra Bose in the field of science are exceptional and unmatched. With a motive to honour his contributions, YMCA University of Science and Technology will be named as ‘JC Bose YMCA University of Science & Technology’. The state government will complete all the formalities related to change of name soon.
Adding further, Mr. Manohar Lal revealed that the state government would consider the demands raised by YMCA University for the creation of non-teaching and teaching posts. The varsity also sought budgetary provision for new courses, and he would visit the university again to address the grievances of the varsity.
Terming the science as the mother of all the inventions, Mr. Manohar Lal mentioned that the state government is focusing on the expansion of scientific and technical facilities in educational institutes. The government is giving more emphasis to science education in schools, and the recruitment of new science teachers will be completed soon, he added.
Vice Chancellor of YMCA University, Mr. Dinesh Kumar revealed that the varsity is planning to launch new courses and increase the number of teachers from 125 to 300.
