Polytechnic Pass Outs to Appear for Undergraduate Courses in UP

Uttar Pradesh government headed by a Youth Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has issued a government order which will allow polytechnic pass outs to appear for undergraduate courses. After this GO, the polytechnic course equates with any class 12 exam in the state.

This order means that a polytechnic pass out student in UP can undertake B.A, B.Com, B.Sc engineering courses without doing class 12th separately. They may take admission in any under graduate courses of UP government. They may also appear for any engineering college admission test or procedure for a seat in B.Tech or BE. It also means that there will be an increase in Polytechnic institutes in Uttar Pradesh, which implies that students will get more technical and employment oriented education in every corner of the state.

This move is important as State govt has already given it is, the recognition of class 10th. After this move around 55 thousand students will be benefitted. In state, there are 104 govt run polytechnics while 140 other are run by the private sector. Out of which 19 are government aided. Self-financed seats in these are 4120 in number while the total number of courses run in these are 56.

Now giving Class 12th recognition to polytechnic institutes will help 54690 students studying there.
