The government of Uttar Pradesh will hold the Provincial Civil Service (PCS) examination in the online mode on the lines of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The online examination will help the candidates to prepare for a single examination instead of preparing separately for two examinations.
KS Tomar, Chairman for Standing Committee of State Public Service Commission, revealed that the decision has been taken only after consulting the Chairman of PSCs of all the states.
Tomar further added that the candidates who are appearing for various competitive examinations are seeking adaptation and change in the procedure of the examinations at par with national level competitive exams. Hence, the introduction of online examinations is necessary.
He explained that all the Public Service Commissions of various states have adopted the latest technology in holding these examinations. Starting from the application process to conducting examination, everything is done online. He expressed his happiness that even UPSC is going to examination in online mode in the year 2017.
Tomar who also holds the position of Chairman of Himachal Prades Public Service Commission (HPPSC) indicated that UPSC could adopt the latest technology in holding the examination by recruiting skilled engineering students from various colleges or universities which would further generate employment opportunities to engineering graduates.
He exhorted that all the State Public Service Commissions must go cashless to bring transparency. A national level conference will take place in Gujarat soon where chairpersons of PSCs from various states will attend to discuss various recommendations and proposals.
