Panjab University (PU) has joined hands with Florida Polytechnic University (FPU) of US, with an aim to work on a project on sustainable development in green chemistry, engineering and technology.
In the course of this project, Panjab University has bonded with FPU for a student exchange programme to develop a particular course with specialisation in green technology.

Panjab University would hold an international conference with respect to the same. The Governor of Uttarakhand, Dr. Krishan Kant Paul would be the chief guest of the event. On this occasion, more than 25 international speakers will be present to highlight their thoughts on sustainable development initiatives like solar energy, energy storage and water purification.
Both the universities are collaborating for multiple objectives like creating an educational curriculum on green chemistry, collaboration on research programmes, engineering and technology; and outreach programmes through this Rs 1.22 crore project.
As stated by the project director of FPU, Dr. Jaspreet Dhau, the main focus of the project will be on the three technologies which are energy storage, water purification and circuit fabrication process. He further added that this is a programme where both the universities will enjoy an equal contribution in the partnership.

Ganga Ram Chaudhary, project director of PU and assistant professor of chemistry at the university revealed that the course will be helpful for the industries to get skilled and research-oriented students.
In addition, he also explained that there is a requirement to submit an educational curriculum to UGC so that it can be implemented at both the universities.
