Rajasthan Sets up 900 ITIs in Rajasthan to Improve Employment

Labour and Employment Minister of Rajasthan, Mr. Jaswant Yadav informed that the state government set up more than 900 private and government ITIs (Industrial Training Institutes) in the last four years. Similarly, the government has launched 31 new courses in 923 ITIs, and the training capacity was raised from 1.91 lakh to 3.87 lakh. In all, the total number of ITIs imparting skill-based education across Rajasthan stands at 1,936. Among 1,936 ITIs, the state government runs 251, he added.

Giving further details, Mr. Jaswant Yadav mentioned that NAPS (National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme) facilitated 11,000 seats in 1,200 ITIs for the students. The state government has also set up Centres of Excellence at government ITIs. With an objective to provide training in the tourism sector, the state government has collaborated with ITEES (Institute of Technical Education, Education Services), Singapore to set up Centre for Excellence in Udaipur.

Mr. Jaswant Singh stated that the state government organised 898 employment, skill and entrepreneurship fairs in the last four years. In all, over 4.5 lakh youth have been benefitted through various schemes. Under Akshat Scheme, the government provided Rs. 86.81 crore as unemployment allowance to 1,07,786 youths, he added.

In the last four years, the employment department organised 28 army recruitment rallies and provided employment to 11,031 candidates.

From the above aspects, it is quite evident that the state government of Rajasthan has taken extensive steps in improving employment percentage under various schemes. More emphasis on skill-based education improved the employability of Rajasthan students.
