Chancellor of the leading Saveetha University, Dr. N.M Veeraiyan was honoured with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' by the President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, on the occasion of World Health Day.

Chancellor of the leading Saveetha University, Dr. N.M Veeraiyan was honoured with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' by the President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, on the occasion of World Health Day.

The President revealed that he was indeed very happy to have conferred the NIMCARE Lifetime Achievement Award on Dr. N M Veeraiyan, Chancellor, Saveetha University, Chennai who has been able to transform the popular Saveetha University into one of leading universities in the country. All this has been made possible through his continued dedication, commitment, and hard work.

He further added that it was his privilege to have presented the NIMCARE World Health Day Awards of Excellence to the outstanding citizens of our nation in recognition of their services to the people.

The felicitation ceremony took place at a Summit in the presence of dignitaries such as the Health Minister of India, Women & Child Development Minister of India etc.

During the event, the Health Minister also presented a plaque that signified the setting up of Centre for Excellence in Psychiatry at Saveetha University.

Saveetha University is based in the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu state of Southern India. It is regarded as one of India's leading education machinery. It also has the largest Specialist Centre for Education for all disciplines like engineering, medicine, physiotherapy, dental surgery, nursing, management, and law.
