The upcoming recruitment process of State Bank of India for the selections of eligible candidates for the post of clerical cadre was one of the most awaited government recruitment examination of 2016. Only a few days ago, the recruitment was announced. But this time, there is a significant change in the recruitment process. The notification has been released for Junior Associates and Junior Agricultural Associates.A new and striking criteria that can affect one's eligibility this year is also added in the notification, As per that criteria if you are a defaulter in State Bank of India or in any associate bank of State Bank Group(such as then your candidature may be cancelled making you ineligible for the Examination. This essential criterion is related to loans & credit card dues wherein if you have defaulted in repayment then you are ineligible to apply for their clerical recruitment. The minimum eligibility criteria to apply for SBi Clerk Exam is a degree of graduation in any stream. Well, that is still the same as most of the category.

Rule1: Repayment of Loans:

This is seen for the first time, as criteria of recruitment in any government sector Examination.The bank is asking about your credit history.As per the notification it states

“Candidates with the record of default in repayment of loans/credit card dues and/or against whose name, adverse report of CIBIL or other external agencies are available are not eligible to apply for the post.”

What does it mean?

In simple words, If you had taken any loan be it education loan or home loan or vehicle loan or personal loan or even credit card loan & have defaulted or missed the repayment, then you are not eligible to apply for the SBI Clerk posts.

How will SBI Check it?

The possibility is that SBI may verify your CIBIL scores, before your appointment. The same procedure is followed by private banks as a part of the background verification.

Rule 2:Complaint Against Your Character

This is also the first time, you will see any such criteria of recruitment in any government sector exam.The bank is asking about your character.As per the notification it states

“Candidates against whom there is/are an adverse report regarding character & antecedents, moral turpitude are not eligible to apply for the post.“

What does it mean?

In simple words, If you are having bad conduct character report in your name like a police report or pending enquiry on inappropriate behaviour or code of conduct, then you are not eligible to apply for the SBI Clerk posts.

How will SBI Check it?

The possibility is that SBI may verify your character, before your appointment. The same procedure is followed by private banks and any other private Sector Entity as a part of the background verification.

The Examination scheduled to be held in the last week of May 2016 or in the first week of June 2016 depending on availability of seating arrangements. The Online Application is still going on.
