Admission to the post-graduate programmes offered by the Banaras Hindu University is done on the basis of BHU-PET (Postgraduate Entrance Test).
Selection Process:
- In order to be considered for selection process of BHU-PET, students must have cleared the eligibility criteria.
- In addition to the eligibility criteria, candidates will also have to clear the cutoff of BHU-PET in order to apply for different postgraduate programmes at BHU.
- A merit list is prepared on the basis of the score obtained by the students. Seats in different PG programmes is allotted on the basis of this merit list.
Counselling Process:
- Emails will be sent to the students who will make it to the merit list. These students can log into the entrance portal and download the call letter.
- The students will then have to report at the respective department of the university from which the letter was sent. Document verification and fee payment must be done to secure the allotted seat.
Following are the documents a student requires to carry for verification:
- Transfer Certificate
- Migration Certificate (only for candidates who passed out from universities other than BHU)
- Class 10th and 12th passing certificate
- Class 10th and 12th marksheets
- Marksheet to qualifying exam (graduation)
- PET Admit Card
- SC/ST/OBC certificate or other reservation category documents (if applicable)
- Sports quota certificate (if any)
- Certificate of being son/daughter of a permanent in-service employee/retired/reemployed/deceased employee of BHU in the prescribed format issued by the central registry.
