Selection Process and Counselling Process after JCECE-B.Tech

JCECE for B.Tech is conducted for admission to various engineering programmes offered by engineering colleges of Jharkhand.

Selection Process:

  • The first screening for the exam is done on the basis of marks secured by a candidate in class 12 board exams. Candidates have to secure the minimum marks set by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) in order to qualify.
  • Candidates must have scored minimum cutoff marks for admission to UG engineering exams. The cutoff is set each year by JCECEB.
  • Final admissions are done on the basis of the two merit lists (Combined Merit List and Category-wise Result) prepared by JCECEB.

Counselling Process:

  • JCECE Counselling is conducted in the months of July and August every year. The counselling is conducted in two rounds. Seat allocation will start only after the announcement of JCECE Merit List.
  • First Round of Counselling: Selection in the first round is done strictly on the basis of rank obtained in JCECE 2017. Candidates will have to fill their course preference with respect to their score. Those who are allotted seats are called for verification of original documents and fee submission for the confirmation of the admission.
  • Second Round of Counselling: If seats remain vacant after the first round of counselling then the second round of counselling will be conducted. The selection criteria will remain the same as the second counselling.
