Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (SSCBS) which represented Team India has emerged as the winner of Enactus World Cup 2017. Enactus, a non-profit organisation, works towards motivating students to take entrepreneurial action for improving the lives of others, almost in sync with the Sustainable Developmental Goals of the United Nations. The annual innovation event ‘Enactus World Cup’ features the best social innovation projects created and developed by top colleges and universities from 36 countries across the globe. Year after year, over 72,000 students participate in the event from 1,700 college/ universities across the world.

SSCBS students were declared world champions for their projects ‘Raahat’ and 'Udaan' in the Enactus Championship. The project aims to improve sanitation in slum communities of Delhi (urban). Another initiative of SSCBS - Udaan, also encourages and empowers women to operate computer centers, specifically in rural areas to develop awareness on economic opportunities and promotes skill development. These projects have already impacted more than 1 lakh people. Both these initiatives have further contributed significantly to the Digital India and Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan of the Government of India.

The final round of Enactus World Cup 2017 witnessed the participation of teams from Canada, Puerto Rico and Kyrgyzstan. The team from Canada bagged the second place.
Recently, Ford Motor Company Fund also announced that the four Enactus finalists team would get an opportunity to grab $90,000 in the race for the new annual Ford Better World Award. Out of the total amount, $50,000 will go to Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business and Enactus country of India.
The next edition of Enactus World Cup will be conducted from October 9 to October 11, 2018, in Silicon Valley, San Jose, located in California (United States of America).
