It is notable that several subject experts for different subjects, like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics , have pointed out that several questions for different shifts have been challenged for ambiguous data, wrong options, and multiple correct answers. Although confirmation can only be made based on the official final key published by the National Testing Agency, students are speculating about their bonus marks in the event of dropped questions.

Will Bonus Marks Be Awarded in JEE Main 2026 Session 1?
Based on previous trends followed by JEE Main, if any question is officially removed in the final answer key, NTA grants full marks (+4) to all students who attempted the examination in any shift, irrespective of whether they attempted a particular question or not. However, if the answer is simply corrected instead of being dropped, only the students who selected the correct option will be given marks.
Candidates have to wait until the official announcement of the final answer key in the form of a PDF file for confirmation. The effect of dropped questions on the score is negligible, and those who take the examination on the second shift have their results normalized due to percentile values.
