Shivaji University Provided Help in the Drought-Affected Areas

Shivaji University provided help in the drought-affected areas and the helped in the distribution of grain and livestock caryace. University Vice - Chancellor Dr. Devanad Shinde inaugurated and inspected the drought Atapadi and Jat, (Sangli District Blocks). The four villages have been helped by the University.

"The Shivaji University is always ahead for social services in any crisis or emergency days. FIG drought conditions through a review of the University Students Welfare Department and the National Service Scheme had appealed for help in affiliated colleges. University is helping in area like grass and fodder collection. Nearly 57 quintals of wheat, corn, rice, etc. were collected and three trucks of fodder was deposited. All of this was then distributed in the drought affected four villages.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Shinde inaugurated Tadavale (Tal. Atapadi) distributed 22 quintals of rice to 450 families. Madagule (Tal.Atapadi) of 100 families and their animals were given 10 quintals of grain and 10 quintals of cotton-cake. Vajravada (Tal.Jat) of 100 families and their animals were given 10 quintals of grain and grass-2 truck fodder. Khilaravadi (Tal. Jat) of 50 families and their animals were given 5 quintals of grain & 1 truck fodder.

On this occasion, registrar V.N.Shinde, BCUD Director D.R.More, Principal S R Karande, Principal B N Pawar, National Service Scheme District Program Officer Dr.Sadashiv and related tadavale, Madagule, Vajravada, Khilaravadi Village and the village panchayat office-bearers were present in large numbers.
