SRMIST bags highest NAAC grade, i.e., A++. The performance of institute, NAAC score and grade has made SRMIST directly eligible for autonomous status under Category I as per UGC.
SRM Deemed University, also known as SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has credited a significant achievement in its kitty. National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited SRMIST with the highest grade, i.e., A++. As per the revised accreditation process of NAAC, 70% weightage is assigned to quantitative metrics. NAAC had directed SRMIST to upload the evidence justifying quantitative metrics. As per the verification of NAAC with the help of computer-based tools, SRMIST showed its mark.
As per NAAC data, SRMIST scored 3.55 on a 4.00 scale. The performance of institute, NAAC score and grade made SRMIST directly eligible for autonomous status under Category I as per UGC (University Grants Commission). With the latest achievement, SRMIST can set up off-campuses and increase internationalisation.

In QS Rankings 2017, SRMIST bagged ‘4-star rating’ out of ‘5’ in specific categories of Inclusiveness, Employability and Teaching.
Apart from NAAC accreditation and performance in international rankings, SRMIST offers a few international programmes, which have accreditation of UK-based IET (The Institute of Engineering & Technology), USA-based ABET. Such international accreditations helped SRMIST to attract 800 students from 64 countries.
NAAC highest grade to SRMIST is the culmination of many innovative measures benefiting the faculty and students alike resulting in an outstanding/ invigorating learning atmosphere. The Inter-Disciplinary Experiential Active Learning (IDEAL) curriculum of SRMIST gives an option to students to go for specialisation at UG level itself. The Faculty Industry Immersion Programme at SRMIST is also instilling necessary exposure to faculty.
All the courses offered by SRMIST have AICTE approval. Several rating agencies had praised some of the initiatives of SRMIST such as Student Abroad Programme, students and alumni in the Academic Council and Board of Studies, and entrepreneurship as a project.

SRMIST featured in National IP Award 2018 in the category of ‘Top Academic Institution for Patents and Commercialisation’ by Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
