In a matter of extreme pride, St Anthonys College, Shillong has been recently invited by Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST), China to participate in the 2nd South and South East Asian College Student Cultural and Sports Week in Kunming from May 21 to 31.
Principal of St Anthonys College Rev Brother Albert L Dkhar said that it is for the first time an institution from North East has been invited by a foreign establishment.
St. Anthony's College is an educational institution of high repute in the north eastern part of India. It is one of the best colleges in the entire region known to bring excellent results every year. Founded in 1934, St. Anthony’s College has the distinction being the first institution of higher learning established by the Salesians world-wide. The college offers various undergraduate and post graduate courses in the field of arts, science and commerce. The college is affiliated to North Eastern Hill University and has been re-accredited by the NAAC with Grade “A”- Cycle: 3.
At present, under the dynamic leadership of the Principal, Br. (Dr.) Albert Longley Dkhar, SDB, the college is progressing ahead wonderfully.
Extremely elated and honoured by the invitation, he stated, "The college would participate in sports and cultural events there".
