Students at NIT Warangal Unveil Off-Road Buggy

Engineering students at the National Institute of Technology Warangal have unveiled their 2019 version of the off-road buggy. The buggy will be showcased at a national-level competition in January 2019.

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal students have unveiled their 2019 version of the off-road buggy, which will also be showcased by them at a national-level competition to be held at Pithampur, Indore. This event will be organised from 23rd January to 27th January 2019 by the Society Automotive Engineering of India. The off-road buggy has been successfully invented, fabricated and tested by the NIT Warangal students.

The vehicle designed by the NIT Warangal students was launched by the Professor NV Ramana Rao, NIT Director. The launch event also witnessed the presence of Prof Bangaru Babu, the Head of the Department of the Mechanical Engineering Wing of NIT Warangal. More such dignitaries were also present at the event to witness the students' creation.

Professor Rao addressed the students present at the event and said that the Indore event will comprise of the talented students from around the nation. These students will show their invented models and would also compete with each other. This healthy competition would include rounds of testing the dynamics and static design of the machine or objects made by the students. The parameters for evaluating the machines would include:

  • Braking Distance

  • Hill Climb

  • Acceleration

  • Rock Climb

  • Manoeuvrability

  • Sledge Pull

  • Four hours Power Race

  • Suspension Dynamics

The entire event of the Society Automotive Engineering of India will last for five days and the winner will be announced by the end of the fifth day after various strength proving test rounds. The NIT Director also acknowledged students and added that students will not only be aware of the technical aspects of the automobile working but will be exposed to the managerial aspect by handling bigger projects.
