On 14th August’ 16, the students of Indian Institute of Technology of Gandhinagar cleaned the Kalupur railway junction. The junction is in Ahmedabad and 180 students cleaned it under the campaign of IITGN Foundation Program. The students who participated in this activity are all from first-year and this activity comes under their extra-curricular activities of the foundation program. The program is a five-week immersion program for new students joining the institute who participate in a series of academic and extracurricular activities.

The program focuses on following aspects:
- Social Awareness
- Leadership
- Ethics
- Sports
- Creativity
Coordinator of the program and IIT Gandhinagar faculty, Prof. Umashankar Singh said to the reporters that the foundation program of the institute focuses on aspects that will help students grow holistically.
He also said that it will help them be responsible and will make them socially aware.

The students started the activity around 8 am and worked till 10 am and were accompanied by the faculty members of the institute. The students and faculty members concluded the activity by singing the national anthem.
