Teary Tribute to Dr Kalam from Student Community

The day after Dr APJ Abdul Kalam has passed, entire nation pay tribute to the true man of India. Students of various Universities of entire India pay glowing tribute to the Missile Man of India. Different Universities and Institutes across the country mourned his sudden demise.

• IIM Shillong mourns the sudden demise of a luminary.
Dr. Kalam was on a visit to Meghalaya to address the students of the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong. The entire IIM Shillong fraternity gathered at around 10:30 pm on 27th at the Institute to pay their condolences to Dr. Kalam and observed two minutes of silence. Prof Amitabha De, Director of IIM Shillong addressed the entire IIM Shillong fraternity as everyone mourned the sad demise of Dr. Kalam. IIM Shillong fraternity which gathered on 28th July, 2015 took up tree plantation to honour the visionary work, ideas, and thoughts of a greener and sustainable environment as envisioned by Dr. Kalam in his lectures to the students of IIM Shillong.

• Punjab University
Students and faculty of Panjab University (PU), its affiliated colleges and institutes organized condolence meetings in all departments and branches of the administrative block of Panjab University.

PU vice-chancellor Arun Kumar Grover, university officials, teachers, research scholars and students participated in the condolence meetings.

• Anna University
Classes were suspended at Anna University as a mark of respect for the beloved son of Tamil Nadu. Kalam had been an alumnus of Madras Institute of Technology and a visiting professor of Anna University.

• Rama Devi University, Bhubaneswar
Students of Rama Devi University paid Tribute to Former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam at their University in Bhubaneswar. With a teary eye and candles in their hand, students spontaneously grieved of losing a gentleman like ‘Kalam’.

• SASTRA University, Periyar Maniyammai University
Students could never forget the words that Kalam had delivered in his lectures at these two higher education institutions. He had delivered several lectures at these Universities. Students of both the Universities offer garland and flowers in his memory.

• Chinese Academic community
Fondly recalling former President APJ Abdul Kalam's two memorable visits to China to interact with students, the Chinese academic community also paid rich tributes to India's 'missile man', saying he was not simply a scientist of India but of the entire world.

• Indian Institute of Allahabad University
Indian students of Allahabad University draw a giant poster to pay tribute to Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, at Alfred Park, in Allahabad.

• Delhi University
ABVP, the student wing of BJP paid heartfelt tribute to the Dr Kalam at a college and observe 2 minutes silence in his remembrance.

• Kishanganj University to rename after Kalam
As per latest report, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced to rename the Kishanganj Agriculture University after former President of India and renowned scientist APJ Abdul Kalam. Paying his tribute to the former president, Nitish Kumar tweeted that the Kishanganj University would be renamed as ‘Dr. Kalam Agriculture University.’
