TNEA 2022 Round 1 General Counselling will begin on August 25, and the candidates who have secured a rank of 1 to 14,524 are eligible to participate in the counselling process. The Round 1 counselling process includes choice filling, seat allotment and reporting.
TNEA 2022 Round 1 General Counselling: The Directorate of Technical Education Tamil Nadu has released the schedule for TNEA 2022 Round 1 General Counselling. Candidates who are featured in the rank list of TNEA 2022 are eligible to participate in the counselling process. However, DOTE Tamil Nadu conducts rank-wise counselling for B.Tech/ B.E admission, and the candidates will have to participate in the counselling process as per the rank-wise schedule specified by the authority. The Round 1 general counselling process of TNEA 2022 includes choice filling, seat allotment, seat confirmation and reporting. Basis the choices filled by the candidate, the merit-based seat allotment shall be processed.

TNEA 2022 Round 1 Choice Filling & Seat Allotment
Candidates who are eligible to participate in the TNEA 2022 Round 1 General Counselling must complete the choice filling process first. The window for choice filling will open on August 25, 2022. Based on the candidates' ranks, and choices filled out, candidates will be shortlisted and the Provisional Allotment list will be declared. Candidates will have the opportunity to raise objections, if any, in the provisional seat allotment list. Further, The seat allotment will be released, for which candidates may either “Accept and Join” or “Accept and Upward”. Based on the candidates' choice, they will have to proceed with the TNEA 2022 Round 1 General Counselling. Also, candidates must report to the allotted TFC (TNEA Facilitation Centre) with valid documents to complete the admission process.
- Accept and Join- Implies that the candidate accepts the allotted seats and is ready to join.
- Accept and Upward- Indicates that candidates accept the seats, but still is looking for options to make changes.
However, as the TNEA 2022 Round 1 General Counselling, it is most likely that candidates are allotted their first preferences. In any case, if candidates are not satisfied, they may raise an objection at the Provisional Allotment List or Accept and Upward while looking forward to the upcoming TNEA 2022 General Counselling Rounds.
