Two Arrested in UP Polytechnic Paper Leak

The Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education, has ordered an inquiry into polytechnic paper leak case.

SK Singh, Secretary, Technical Education said that a three member panel has been set up by the board to look into the alleged paper leak.

“The panel would be headed by Yad Ali, special secretary of the technical education,” stated Singh.

The secretary also said that a meeting was conducted in the wee hours on Saturday, to discuss about the proceedings of the enquiry.

The case:

  • Uttar Pradesh Technical Education on Friday, had cancelled applied physics examinations after the papers were leaked and the news went viral on social media.
  • The leaked paper went viral on whatsapp and facebook on Thursday evening.
  • The secretary had also asked the centres to send the video of sealing process of envelops in which the question papers were kept.

Earlier all polytechnic institutes directed not to open the sealed question paper packet of the applied physics examination and are directed to send it to the department on May 14. The new date of the examination will be announced soon by the department.

The examination was cancelled just an hour before it was to begin. Officials of Uttar Pradesh technical department found the question paper leaked on WhatsApp was the original one. More than 1 lakh students at 240 centres across the state were to take the examination.
