UGC Issues Strict Guidelines to all the Universities to Curb Ragging
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued strict regulations to all the colleges and universities to take measures to regulate ragging. These regulations will come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
The UGC has made some changes in the anti-ragging regulations:-
- The incidents related to student suicides over the past few years made the UGC come up with rigid rules in treating the wrath of ragging across the country.
- The UGC has also launched a toll-free number for the sake of students. The students can register complaints related to ragging through this toll-free number.
- The UGC also directed the universities to constitute anti-ragging squads to broaden the realm of anti-ragging provisions.
