Savitribai Phule Pune University bagged the 10th position in the NIRF Rankings 2017 under best university category. The university has 52 departments and offers various courses. Recently, the varsity concluded the admission process for the M.Tech courses. Now, it has further issued a latest notification indicating the application process is still open for various courses. Interested candidates applying to SPPU shall note that Pune University conducts national-level entrance examination for admission to these programmes.

University of Pune offers postgraduate courses ranging from technical to non-technical courses. The varsity conducts separate entrance examination for each programme.

Examination Pattern: -
- Almost all the questions in the entrance examination are objective in nature.
- However, for research programmes, the varsity conducts admission as per the score secured by the candidates in UGC-NET (National Eligibility Test).
- The syllabus for the entrance examination varies from subject to subject.
- The questions are mostly from the subjects that the applicants have studied previously.
Application Process: -
- The University of Pune gives two options to the candidates, i.e., online application and offline application.
- The candidates can get the application directly from the head office of the University of Pune after paying the prescribed fees.
- Fill the application and submit the same with all the necessary and mandatory documents at the head office of the varsity.
- Candidates filling online application must follow some instructions.
- The University of Pune has an official website where the candidates can fill the online application.
- Primarily, a candidate will need to make pre-registration which is mandatory.
- Online application opens only after pre-registration.
- Fill the application and pay the fee.
- Submit the application and take printout.
- Appear for the entrance examination on the prescribed date.
