The State Government of Uttar Pradesh is to introduce differently coloured answer sheets in order to stop the prevalent unfair practices. It is to be implemented from the very next session.
The Madhya Shiksha Parishad of the State of Uttar Pradesh has decided to introduce a new kind of answer sheets in order to shun the malpractices prevalent in the secondary examination. Introduction of differently coloured lines answers sheets will minimize the chances of replacement of answer copies.
Over the years, it has been found out that many students who appear in the secondary and intermediate level examinations manage to get blank answer sheets of previous years from copying mafias in exchange for money. Later they replace these gathered answer sheets with the already submitted ones. This can be considered to be a criminal offence. Various steps have been taken by the government in order to check such malpractice which has not been able to eradicate it completely.
Around two years ago the State Government of Uttar Pradesh had launched the process of allotting the examination centres online. This was helpful to lessen down the percentage of mass copying to an extent. Other than this, voice recorders and CCTVs have been installed in all the examination centres so the authority can exercise the task of constant monitoring.

The step to introduce differently coloured lines answers sheets can be considered to be the final nail in the coffin. Neena Srivastava who is the Secretary of the UP Board said that the main answer sheet provided by the high school and the additional answer sheets asked for by the students will have different coloured lines. She also added that this initiative might end the possibility of pre-written exam papers.

For the first time, the board designated to monitor the educational sector in Uttar Pradesh has introduced coded answer sheets in all the 75 districts of the state. This can be considered to be a leap towards healing the much prevalent illness of “mass copying”.
