WBSSC launches New Portal to Check SLST Results: The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has launched a website to help aspiring teachers check their State Level Selection Test (SLST) results. The old portal was overloaded, so a fresh site was created for smoother access for over 2.29 lakh candidates. The SLST results for teachers in classes 11‑12 were posted on November 7, 2025 on the official WBSSC portal, opening the way to fill 12,514 teaching posts in government and government‑aided schools.

The announcement comes after a Supreme Court ruling on April 3 that cancelled the appointments of 25,753 teaching and non‑teaching staff, calling the 2016 recruitment “vitiated and tainted”. This SLST is the first exam held after that verdict, on September 14. Because the result release attracted a huge number of users, the old website crashed, and many candidates could not see their scores. The commission asked applicants to log in at intervals instead of refreshing.

Aspirant Subrata Biswas said he tried both the main WBSSC site and the new help‑desk portal without success. Another candidate, Chinmoy Mondal, an office‑bearer of the Deserving Teachers Rights Forum, has been trying since Thursday night but still cannot view his result. Candidates who have cleared the test will now move to interviews, where their teaching abilities, subject knowledge, and communication skills will be assessed. After the interviews, a final merit list will combine written and interview scores.

Those selected will undergo document verification, presenting original certificates, mark sheets, and identity proofs before receiving appointment letters. The commission is still unsure how many of the 25,753 teachers who lost their jobs after the April 3 verdict have qualified in the new SLST. An official believes a large number of “untainted” candidates, those not linked to the 2016 irregularities, have succeeded. The new portal will stay live alongside the old site, and candidates are urged to check back for updates as the selection process moves forward.
