Who is Eligible for WBJEE 2023?

WBJEEB will release WBJEE 2023 eligibility criteria very soon along with the WBJEE official notification at the official website. Before that the candidates can consider the past year's criteria to have an idea on the same. 
WBJEE 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) will release WBJEE 2023 eligibility criteria very soon along with the WBJEE official notification at the official website- wbjeeb.nic.in. Before applying for the WBJEE exam 2023, the candidates should check and meet the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria of WBJEE 2023 is depending on several factors, such as age, academic qualification, nationality. The authority has scheduled the WBJEE exam on April 30, 2023. Kindly note, the candidates, who will want to apply for WBJEE 2023 exam, should upload all the required documents. Since, the candidates should submit the marksheet during the time of counselling, therefore, they are advised not to put the incorrect information.

WBJEE 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Based on the previous year's eligibility criteria, the same for 2023 can be mentioned, so that the canidates will get an idea about the minimum qualification. Check out the WBJEE 2023 eligibility criteria here in the following section-

Nationality

  • To apply for WBJEE 2023 exam, the candidates should be Indian
  • Also the candidates should be a permanent resident of West Bengal for 10 consecutive years, as on December 31, 2023
  • If the parents of the candidates are permanent residents of West Bengal and have a permanent residential address, then those candidates can apply for the WBJEE exam 2023

Kindly note, if the candidates will not have the domicile eligibility, then they can also apply for WBJEE exam for a limited number of seats. The tuition fee waiver (TFW) scheme will be required for the domicile eligibility. 

Age Limit

To apply for WBJEE 2023 exam, the candidates should have a minimum 17 years of age group as on December 31, 2023. There is no upper age limit to apply for the WBJEE exam. However, if the candidates will apply for Marine Engineering, then they should be maximum 25 years of age, as on December 31, 2023. 

Academic Qualification 

  • Candidates should complete 10+2 or equivalent exams held by a recognized board by the State or Central Govt
  • Candidates should pass Physics and Mathematics along with any of the subjects, Biology/ Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Computer Application/ Computer Science as compulsory in the qualifying exam
  • The above mentioned subjects should be passed individually, both in theory and practical exam
  • The candidates, appearing for the qualifying exam 2023, can also apply for the WBJEE 2023 exam

Qualifying Marks

  • General category candidates should get a 45% score in aggregate in three compulsory papers in 10+2 exam
  • The qualifying marks for the reserved category candidate is 40%
  • The candidates should qualify the English paper with a minimum of 30% marks
