JEE Main 2026 registration is expected to start before October 20, 2025. As per experts, NTA will open the application link soon at jeemain.nta.nic.in for the January 2026 session.

Will JEE Main 2026 Registration begin before October 20: As per some media reports or coaching institutes, the JEE Main Registration 2026 is likely to begin around October 20, tentatively. In previous years, NTA has typically opened the registration window around three months before the exam date, which aligns with this timeline. But, due to the upcoming festival session, the registration window is likely to be delayed and will likely happen after the festival dates. As per CollegeDekho, the JEE Main Registration 2026 will be initiated in the last week of October 2025. Hence, students can expect the registration link at jeemain.nta.nic.in to become active in the month of October 2025.
Recently, NTA has issued advisories and notifications urging candidates to update their Aadhaar, category, and disability certificates prior to registration, confirming the imminent release of the application form. Once the form is out, candidates will be able to complete the registration, fill in details, upload required documents, and pay the application fee online. The registration window is likely to remain open for around 25 to 30 days, followed by an opportunity for form correction in November 2025.
NTA activated the JEE Main 2026 registration demo link on October 7 at the website through which candidates can understand the application process, documents required to apply and fee details. The NTA will conduct the exam in two sessions, Session 1 in January 2026 and Session 2 in April 2026. For session 2, the registration period will start in the first week of February 2026. Every year, more than 10 lakh students appear for the JEE Main exam, out of which only 2.5 lakh successfully qualify and then appear for JEE Advanced.
