India’s most prestigious civilian Awards, Padma Awards, were conferred to achievers in various fields including art, public affairs, social work, science and engineering, medicine, trade and industry, literature and education, civil service, sports, etc. Nominees are invited from all over the country and the awards are bestowed upon the highest achiever in the respective fields.
There are three categories of Padma awards and these are Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. The awards are declared every year on Republic Day. A total of 85 Padma Awards were approved by the President of India for this year’s ceremony. Out of these, 21 awards were conferred to achievers in the field of education and literature. Following is the list of people who received Padma Awards in 2018 for their achievements in the field of Education, Literature and Journalism.

73 Padma Shri awards, 9 Padma Bhushan and 3 Padma Vibhushan were approved by the President. Out of these, 14 of the awardees were women who received awards in different fields, 16 awards were given to foreigners and 3 were posthumous.
