For professionals looking to work in the US, the H-1B visa is in high demand, and the lottery process can be unpredictable. Though the 2023 lottery has ended, however, there are still chances for a second H-1B visa lottery as per experts.
The government calculates the number of applications required to fill the visa allotment and usually picks more candidates than the available number of visas to accommodate those who do not file for various reasons.
According to experts, if the computations are simply statistical projections, are inaccurate and there are leftover visas, a second round of the H-1B visa lottery may be executed to assign the remaining visas.

Experts acknowledge that a second round of the H-1B visa lottery this year is unlikely, but not impossible. The IT business has seen layoffs, and some employers are doubtful about recruiting foreign employees and labour.
This uncertainty has slowed the filing of H-1B visa applications, with some establishments waiting to see how the market develops before submitting their applications.
Regardless, the choice to hold a second round of the H-1B visa lottery rests with US Citizenship and Immigration Services. (USCIS). Due to major variations in projections, there were two supplemental rounds of the H-1B visa lottery held during one fiscal year in the past, thus there is precedent for a second round to be held this year as well.

The H-1B visa lottery is a complicated procedure that demands careful attention and planning, and any changes or revisions should be considered seriously by the applicants.
