AIIMS, New Delhi to Admit 100 Students for UG Courses from the Academic Session 2017
Dr. Mishra, Director of AIIMS, New Delhi made the announcement at the 60th Foundation ceremony of the institute on September 26, 2016.
All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi will admit 100 students for undergraduate courses from the next academic session, i.e., 2017. The current intake is 72 and will be increased to 100. Dr. Mishra, Director of AIIMS, New Delhi made the announcement at the 60th Foundation ceremony of the institute on September 26, 2016.
Addressing the students, he mentioned that apart from the increased intake, a total number of seven foreign nationals would be admitted for the MBBS course from the next academic session. He thanked his predecessors and former directors for strengthening the institute both academically and with respect to service delivery.

He also mentioned that the percentage of reserved seats under various categories would remain same. There would not be any changes in the reservations meant for SC/ST/OBC/PH categories.
AIIMS, New Delhi was established in the year 1956. Rajkumar Amrita Kaur, first Health Minister of India, was the person behind the establishment of a medical institute with international repute. Apart from Delhi campus, AIIMS has regional institutes in six cities. The current intake of regional centres is 100. However, these institutes do not admit foreign nationals.
