Allahabad University (AU) to Conduct Year-End Exams for UG and PG Courses in July

The Allahabad University (AU) has declared that it will be conducting the year end examinations for all of its undergraduate courses from July 1, 2020. The year end exams for all postgraduate courses of AU will commence from July 16, 2020. This notice was released by the varsity after following the guidelines that have been issued by University Grants Commission (UGC). The Allahabad University (AU) Admission 2020 for the upcoming academic session of 2020-2021 will also resume from May 10, 2020.

The university has also decided that the viva voce examination of all the Ph.D candidates who have submitted their thesis will be conducted through the online mode. This information was told by some officials of Allahabad University.

AU held a meeting of the examination committee in which it was decided that the examinations for the UG courses that were delayed because of the nationwide lockdown from March 24, 2020 will now be held from July 1, 2020. The examination committee of AU has also decided that the exams will be held every day in three shifts and on all the seven days of the week, inclusive of Sundays. In the previous years, AU used to conduct its year end exams in two shifts only, morning and afternoon.

Similarly, the semester system exams for the postgraduate courses of AU are going to be conducted from July 16, 2020. These exams will also be held in two shifts whereas earlier, they were conducted in just one shift per day and on just five days a week.

The authorities of Allahabad University have said that the exams will be conducted this way following the social distancing rules and by keeping sufficient distance between two examinees. The university will add more examination centres in order to follow these norms amidst the coronavirus pandemic. It will also be compulsory for all examinees to wear masks when they come to give the exam.

For these year end exams of AU, all the teachers and even the non-teaching staff will be given exam duties with no leave being granted to anyone, unless its an emergency. The AU authorities will also take the responsibility of sanitizing all the examination centres, as told by UGC. The exam pattern and question paper format will remain the same as it was previously because half of the exams had already been taken before the enforcement of the nationwide lockdown.
