Anna University VC to Lead AICTE South Regional Committee
- AICTE has reconstituted it's South Regional Committee.
- The committee will have 17 members headed by the VC of Anna University.
Recently,AICTEhas completed reconstituting its Southern Regional Committee. Chairperson of AICTE, Mr. Anil Sahasrabuddhe has nominated the Vice-Chancellor ofAnna Universityas the Head ofACITE South Regional Committee. The Vice Chancellor position at Anna University has been vacant since May 2016. The selection committee headed by Justice VS Sirpurkar has initiated the process of selecting new VC.

The reconstituted AICTE South Regional Committee will have 17 members including: -
- Vice-Chancellor ofAnnamalai University, Mr. S. Manian
- Directors ofNational Institute of Technology (NIT), PuducherryandTrichy
- Principal ofGovernment College of Technology
- Director of National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chennai
- Presidents of FICCI, CII and All India Manufacturers Organisation
- Head of Mother Theresa Post Graduate and Research Institute of Health Science, Puducherry
- Higher Education Secretary, Tamil Nadu
- Technical Education Secretary, Puducherry
- AICTE Adviser
- Representative from Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD)
- Director of State Board of Technical Education Training, Chennai
- Head of College of Pharmacy, Puducherry
The Southern Regional Officer of AICTE will be the Member Secretary of the South Regional Committee.

In 2011, Principal ofPSG College of Technology, Mr. Rudramoorthy was appointed as the Head of South Regional Committee for a period of three years. Later, his term was extended for another three years. Rudramoorthy demitted the office in 2017, and the position has been vacant. The reconstituted South Regional Committee will begin functioning soon.
