Annual Entrepreneurship Event of IIT Kanpur 'eSummit'17 Scheduled for September 1
- IIT Kanpur is all set to host the annual eSummit'17 and hopes to see large participation from students interested in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation.
- Guest lectures, competitions, discussions and knowledge enhancement are some of the key agendas of the summit.
eSummit 2017, an annual entrepreneur summit of Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur is expected to begin this week. IIT Kanpur has already invited a series of host speakers from varied fields and backgrounds to grace the occasion and present their insights and knowledge on different areas of business innovation. Among them, there will be professionals from renowned companies like ShareChat and Reliance Jio etc. The three-day event is scheduled to begin on September 1, 2017. The valedictory ceremony of the summit will be held on September 3, 2017.
Apart from guest lectures, the seminar will also witness a host of competitions themed around entrepreneurship and innovation. Those who emerge winners will get an opportunity to win incubation facilities and equity less funding that have total incentives of up to Rs. 10 lakhs. Renowned companies or organisations like Ivy Cap Ventures and Focus Adventure will also host workshops in which interested students can participate. Following are some of the competitions that will be conducted by IIT Kanpur as a part of eSummit’17: -
- Upstart Biz, a competition that will encourage the participants to pitch their business ideas to investors
- Business Quiz
- Decrypt, a competition in which the participants have to find solutions to various challenges faced by the entrepreneurs
- Stock to Stock, a competition that will enable participants to work on virtual money and stocks
- Pitch Your Product, a competition through which participants will get an opportunity to convert a raw idea into a real market one by analysing its market potential and feasibility

Founders and CEOs of CREO, Grab House and ShareChat will take part in the inaugural ceremony of eSummit’17 where they will address the gathering. The second day of the event is expected to have an exclusive session on ‘Entrepreneurial Opportunities in the Core Sector’. Renowned personalities from the public and private sector organisations will participate in the session to express their ideas and suggestions on the theme. ‘Disruptions caused in the Start-Up World by Technology Driven Start-ups’ is also one of the main themes of the summit.
