CSIR-SERC to Launch Short-Term Courses for Engineering Graduates and Diploma Holders
- CSIR-SERC will launch the short-term courses in January 2018 for engineering graduates and diploma holders.

CSIR-SERC, also known as CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre, one of the popular national laboratories involved in design, analytics and testing of structural components has rolled out a plan to launch short-term courses for engineering graduates and diploma holders. CSIR-SERC will officially launch the short-term courses in January 2018.
Under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, CISR-SERC will offer short-term certificate courses for engineering graduates and diploma holders. Workshops and advanced training programmes will be also launched along with these courses. CSIR’s online certificate courses will be related to durability of concrete structures, concrete technology and structures.

The short-term certificate courses will help in meeting the demands of the industry. The courses will develop the necessary skills and will make the participants industry-ready. Through these courses, CSIR can address the growing demand for skilled workforce in the industry. Similarly, CSIR aims to generate employment opportunities and promote entrepreneurship through these short-term courses. The duration of these advanced short-term courses and workshops will be around three to five days.
Apart from relying on theory-based approach, the courses will also focus on providing hands-on practical experience. With an objective to enable students to understand the subjects in a better way, CSIR will present the case studies along with group practice. Participants will be also spread awareness regarding alternative career opportunities.
