Daulat Ram College Students Approach Court Alleging Admission Irregularities
- Daulat Ram College cancelled the admission of 16 students on the grounds of irregularities in the admission process.
- On August 07, 2018, the college allowed 12 out of 16 students to get admission under changed courses.
Sixteen students whose admissions have been cancelled by Daulat Ram College – Delhi University have approached the Delhi High Court alleging irregularities in the admission process under sports quota. On August 02, 2018, the college management cancelled the admission 16 girls who sought admission under Sports Quota.
The college issued a notice to students stating that the admission of 16 students who sought admission based on the first merit list on July 09, 2018, has been cancelled. The college further directed the students to re-register on August 04 & August 06, 2018. On August 07, 2018, the college allowed 12 out of 16 students to get admission under changed courses.

The college did not grant admission to the remaining four students due to the lack of merit. As per the observation of the college, these four students managed to get admission through unfair means or favouritism.
However, these students managed to get a stay on August 02, 2018, notice issued by the college. Delhi HC directed the college to allow all students in the class until the next hearing scheduled on October 11, 2018.
The sixteen students whose admissions were cancelled decided not to re-register and approached the court for justice. When approached the principal of the college, the response was that the girls with high scores who did not get a chance earlier and were not granted admission in the preferred subject should be given a chance. Therefore, these students were asked to re-register. Students term the statement of college principal as unfair.

Responding on the issue, the Principal of Daulat Ram College pointed that the sports committee in-charge of the University of Delhi resorted to irregularities in the admission process by favouring certain students.
