Deemed Universities to Admit Students only Through NEET Score: UGC
The UGC has also released the list of 123 institutes which have been declared as deemed universities.
The University Grants Commission has finally clarified that all the deemed universities have to conduct MBBS/BDS admissions only through National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) merit list. The declaration was released on the official website of UGC.

The circular states that all the deemed institutes have to carry out the admission process based on NEET merit list as prescribed by the Medical Council of India (MCI). It has also been clarified that CBSE ie. the Central Board of Secondary Education - the conducting body of NEET exam and admissions is an authorised body of the Central Government.
The UGC has also mentioned that the deemed institutions have to take part in the common counselling procedure for admission to medical courses. The Commission has also warned all the deemed universities to carry out the common counselling session in a transparent manner, making sure that no NEET qualified student is denied admission in a medical college.
