Delhi University Announced 4th Cut-off List, Seats Still Vacant

Fourth cut-off list of DU for admissions to the session 2016 was released earlier on Friday, July 15. Seats are still available in the premier colleges of the Delhi University. However, the cut-off for popular colleges is still ranging above 90%.
There has been a drop of about 0.25 to 4 percentage units for courses available at various colleges of DU. Although admissions basis the previous three cut-offs have been done, seats are still available in B.Com (Hons.) and Economic (Hons.) in some of the good colleges.
Out of 54 colleges that offer B.Com (Hons.), 38 colleges still need to fill their seats up. 25 out of 34 colleges offering Economic (Hons.) are still offering the course. SRCC has closed the admissions to its B.com (Hons.) course.

Among the colleges that are still offering B.Com courses are LSR (97%),Ramjas College(96.25%),Kirori Mal College(96%), College of Vocational studies (95%), Aurobindo (94.75%), Aditi Mahavidyalaya (89%).
The university will also announce the number of seats vacant in B.com (Hons.) for the 5th cut-off list. The step has been taken to provide more clarity to the students.
Another trend-changing event for DU admissions in 2016 is that seats in Economics (Hons.) are still vacant atShri Ram College of Commerceavailable at 97.25%. Cut-off for admission to Economics (Hons.) are above 90% at off-campus and evening colleges as well.

44 colleges are still offering English (Hons.) withLady Shri Ram College for Womenhaving the highest cut-off, i.e. 96.50%. Only 4 colleges have closed admissions to their English (Hons.) college.
LSR has closed admissions to Hindi (Hons.) and Sanskrit (Hons.) but seats are available for Sociology (Hons.) at 96.50%.
AlthoughKirori Mal Collegeis still offering popular courses like B.Com (Hons.) and Economics (Hons.), the college has closed admissions to its Political Science, Geography, Zoology, Sanskrit and Chemistry (Hons.).Zoology, Botany and Chemistry (Hons.) have been closed in many colleges. 10 out of 21 colleges offering Chemistry (Hons.) have closed admissions.

Good options have bloomed up for candidates applying to Science courses through reserved categories with the announcement of the fourth cut-off list. However, general category students will have to limit themselves to courses like Physical Sciences,Chemistryand Mathematics.
Unlike the previous years, only 5 cut-offs will be released by the Delhi University. For colleges that will have seats vacant even after the 5th cut-off will have to invite open applications and fill their seats based on merit list.
