IIM Amritsar Holds 3rd Convocation Ceremony, 95 Students Awarded MBA Degrees
IIM Amristar convened its annual convocation ceremony on April 22, 2019. 95 students received MBA degrees at IIM Amritsar 3rd convocation ceremony.
The third convocation of the Indian Institute of Management or IIM Amritsar was held at the institute premises on April 22, 2019. A total of 95 management students were awarded MBA degrees during the ceremony. For the first time, IIM Amritsar awarded MBA degrees to graduates instead of diplomas. During the ceremony, Ganesh Hariharan received the gold medal for scholastic performance and Ramanathan Raman also won a gold medal for overall performance.
The chief guest for the convocation ceremony was Mr. Nagesh Kumar, Head of South & South-West Asia at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission. Director, IIM Amritsar addressed the audience and talked about the value of friendship at the ceremony. He gave insights about the struggle that a candidate may have to go through the initial years in one’s work life and how to handle them as the real test of life is when one takes the first step alone after graduation.

Graduating students of IIM Amritsar were encouraged to establish agriculture based start-up as there are relevant opportunities in the agricultural sector in India. India is an agro-based economy and investing in agriculture offers enormous opportunities for entrepreneurship.
Most of the Indian startup focus on technology as their mainly based in metropolitan cities such as Mumbai, Bangalore, and NCR. Therefore, investing time and promoting agricultural entrepreneurship is a great idea and holds a lot of potential in itself.
