IIM Indore to Organize Talk on New Product Development
- IIM Indore to organise an expert talk on “Winning at New Product Development”.
- The major objective of this talk is to bring science and structure to the process of developing a new product.
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore to organise an expert talk on the topic “Winning at New Product Development”. Profesor Abhishek Mishra would be delivering this talk on 13th May 2017.
The talk aims to enable participants with the well-known stage-gate TM model for the development of the new product and focus on the following:
- How to communicate value to the consumers
- How to learn and understand the demanding aspects with respect to the procedure of new product development
- To bring science and structure to the process of developing a new product

Professor Mishra said that it is impossible for any business to continue offering the same unchanged commodities to the customers as the needs and preferences of the customer are changing rapidly. He added that upgrading a regular product by adding certain new features or developing a new product is not a cake walk for any organisation.
He also pointed out that there are many new discovered products that are frequently failing in the market resulting in bad consequences for the companies. However, despite that, the organisations continue to invest in the process of developing a new product. For this purpose, valuable insights and feedback are taken from their sales, marketing and R&D team to develop new products.
