IIM Udaipur Finally Moves to Permanent Campus in Balicha
IIM Udaipur is the first to completely move to its permanent campus as compared to the other new IIMs.
The Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur has finally moved into its permanent campus in Balicha. The IIM campus in Balicha is not completely ready and the construction is still going on, but few classrooms and offices for the faculty are ready to use.
Classes started from 3rd October’ 16 at IIM Udaipur Balicha campus. Yesterday the classes were held only for the second year students and the classes started from 9 am and lasted till 7:45 pm. Classes of first-year students will start from today and they will have regular sessions.

As the institute was earlier based in MLSU campus, the management has decided to provide a bus service for hostel students from MLSU campus to Balicha campus, till the time new hostels are not ready for use, estimating it to take a fortnight more. The hostel for students is being built using stones and not bricks. Stones are chosen over bricks as two layers of stone with air vacuum in between provide for insulation from atmospheric heat and cold. The institute is trying its best to take care of amenities so that the students do not experience water or electricity shortage.

Out of all the new IIMs, IIM Udaipur is the first one to completely move to its permanent campus. According to the plans and ideas shared by the institute, when fully constructed and ready to use, it is going to be a magnificent campus. On the basis of the area covered, it is going to be the biggest institute.
IIM Udaipur campus will definitely get a chance to brag about the amazing lakes that fall in its premise. The architects have leveraged the undulating terrain and have come up with absolute beauty.
