IIMA e-Inaugurates the 15th Batch of MBA-PGPX, Uses Zoom to Connect With Students
IIMA has started classes for the 2020-21 batch of its MBA-PGPX course online. The e-inauguration for the course was done on 22 April 2020 with 174 people, including professors and students, participating in the event.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad has e-inaugurated its 15th batch of its Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives, also known as the MBA-PGPX programme. While MBA-PGPX at IIMA is a residential programme, it is being conducted online in light of the lockdown conditions in the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The institute is using the virtual classroom software Zoom to connect with the students.

Errol D'Souza, the Director of IIMA, oversaw the live video session as the IIMA professors virtually greeted the students, and as Vishwanath Pingali, the chairperson of MGA-PGPX, and Shailesh Gandi, the Dean of Programs, delivered the welcome note. A total of 174 people attended the e-inauguration. In the welcome note, Prof. Pingali informed the students that the institute has decided to take a portion of the first term of the course online to help them stay ready when campus classes begin.

IIMA provided more details about the batch in a statement. The 2020-21 batch of the MBA-PGPX course has around 690 average GMAT score and 317 average score in GRE. The average age of the batch is 31 years 7 months and students hold a total of 8.6 years of work experience on average. The average international work experience of the batch is 1.5 years.

The MGA-PGPX batch also shows the highest share of girl students in four years and is quite diverse in all aspects. 28% of the MBA-PGPX batch students are girls, 9.29% are NRI students and 36% of the students have international work experience. Expressing confidence in this batch, Prof. Pingali has said that this batch will take the course to newer heights.
