School Students Experience IIT Delhi’s Research Projects
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has recently hosted a one-day Open House event, which had seen the presence of more than 3500 students from over 100 schools who had witnessed a total of 60 projects that have been undertaken by the students of IIT Delhi.
The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi had hosted an Open Day, recently, where a total of 60 projects were on display. These projects were ideas of the students of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. Some of the projects that were on display on IITD Open Day were an intelligent vehicle monitoring system, autonomous robot navigation system, smart cushion-cum-mattress among the many projects that have been undertaken by the students of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
The director of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, V Ramgopal Rao, in a press conference had stated that the projects that were displayed in the Open Day focused on various fields such as agriculture, healthcare, security, atmospheric sciences, etc. He further added that it is necessary to expose today’s children to these research activities that have taken place in the world all over. He states that if the children experience such exposures at an early age, it is possible to provide them with a trigger of sorts that will help them build their lives and future. He also added that the children may not understand most of the concepts that have been put on display which will become memories and sometimes the triggers that will help them have a spark in their hearts for the field of science.

The main goal of the One-day Open Day event is to help people learn and understand the various groundbreaking research activities that have been taking place at IIT Delhi over the past few years, along with the student projects as well as the advanced laboratories and infrastructures at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.

V Ramgoapl Roa also added that the more than over 100 schools had sent a total of more than 3500 students to attend the Open Day event held at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. The students had the opportunity to observe more than 60 presentations that were demonstrated by the different departments present at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. IITD had also showcased more than 300 posters that were created in the field of energy, health, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, robotics as well as clean air and water.
