IIT Kanpur and AU to Conduct Combined Entrance Test for Masters in Cognitive sciences
- IIT Kanpur and AU are would be conducting a joint entrance test for the MSc course in cognitive science to attract the talented students across the country.
- This initiative will help students to pursue a career in cognitive science.
Allahabad Universityis joining hands withIIT Kanpurto attract talented students across the country. TheDepartment of Cognitive and Behavioural Sciencesof Allahabad University would be conducting a joint entrance test for the M.Sc. program for the two centres.
Although IIT Kanpur is introducing master’s program in the cognitive science from this academic year, the cognitive science course at AU is oldest in the country. Apart from these institutesIIT HyderabadandIIT Gandhinagaroffer the masters course in the respective field which offers knowledge about human behaviour.

As per Prof N Srinivasan,Director CBCS, this year applicants will only getadmission in IIT Kanpurand AU but from the next academic year, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Gandhinagar will also join the list of the combined entrance exams provided they are able to open theMS programmein this field.

Theentrance testis scheduled to be held on 17th February 2018 and will be organised by IIT-K under the nameAll India Cognitive Science Joint Entrance Test 2018 ( COGJET). There are23 seatsat CBCS AU and13 MS seatsfor the programme at IIT-K. Thelast datefor theonline applicationis 29th Jan 2018 and the hall ticket for the same will be available from 7th February 2018. The tests centres for the entrance tests are Delhi, Allahabad, Mumbai, Gandhi Nagar, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Bengaluru and Guwahati.
