IIT Madras Adds New Test Centres for JEE (Advanced) 2017 in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana
Based on the recommendations made by governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has added new test centres for JEE (Advanced) 2017 examination.
Based on the recommendations made by governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has added new test centres for JEE (Advanced) 2017 examination. Both the governments recommended the names of a few cities from where more students are appearing for JEE (Advanced) examination.
Last year, around 22,000 students appeared for JEE (Advanced) examination from both the Telugu states out of which 931 students were from Telangana and 822 students were from Andhra Pradesh secured seats in Indian Institutes of Technology. Due to the increase in the number of application of students from these states, the governments requested IIT Madras to add new test centres for the convenience of the students.

Now, JEE (Advanced) 2017 examination will be held in the following cities of Telangana: -
- Hyderabad
- Warangal
- Mehaboobnagar
- Nizamabad (newly added)
JEE (Advanced) 2017 examination will be conducted in the following test centres of Andhra Pradesh: -
- Vijayawada
- Vishakhapatnam
- Nellore
- Tirupati
- Guntur (newly added)
- Ongole (newly added)
- Anathapur (newly added)

The JEE (Advanced) 2017 examination will take place on May 21, 2017. Only those candidates who secure top ranks in JEE (Mains) 2017 will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2017. JEE Mains 2017 is scheduled to be held on April 2, 2017 (offline) and April 8 to April 9, 2017 (online).
Both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been witnessing the rise in the number of students appearing for JEE (Mains) 2017 examination rather than state-level engineering entrance examination. Moreover, the city of Hyderabad has become a famous destination for JEE coaching. Students from various parts of the country are coming to Hyderabad to prepare for the prestigious engineering entrance exam.
