Indo-Australian Education Partnership to Boost Knowledge Exchange

Alison Campbell, Deputy Director of International Marketing & Recruiting at the University of Queensland recently attended an event in the National Capital. While addressing students and officials, she mentioned that partnerships between Indian & Australian Universities will support the skill & knowledge exchange between the two countries. While addressing the masses, she also answered doubts about young students.

According to the available statistics, in 2019, more than 800 Indian Students took admissions at the University of Queensland. This has made the Indian campus population fifth-largest. Most of the Indian Students at Universit of Queensland are pursuing Engineering, Information Technology or Architecture. Business, Economics, and Law are also popular choices of Indian Students studying in Australia.

Alison Campbell also said that about 60% of Indian students are pursuing Postgraduate Courses whereas 20% are studying Undergraduate courses.

Currently, there are 31 formal agreements between 20 Indian colleges and the University of Queensland in various streams like - Science, Energy, Agriculture & Food, Economics, Law, Political Science, Architecture, Music, Information Technology, Business, Biotechnology, etc.

The previous year, the Indian Insitute of Technology Delhi and the University of Queensland started a Joint Academy Research for Ph.D. Students of both the institutions. The venture is helping both organisations and their students to do better in their respective fields.

There are several Australian Institutes that are working in partnership with Indian Universities and students from both sides are benefiting with these collaborations. In the past few years, Australia has become one of the leading Study Abroad Destination among Indian tudents.
