In his webinar on Exams 2021, Union HRD Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal indicated that there may be changes in JEE Main 2021 exam pattern to offer more flexibility to students. The number of questions in the exam are expected to be increased from 75 to 90 where students will be given a choice to answer 75 questions out of 90. This will help students to be choosier while answering the questions. On the other hand, plans are being discussed to conduct JEE Main 2021 more than twice.

According to the current pattern of JEE Main, there are 75 questions comprising of 25 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. If the exam pattern of JEE Main 2021 is revised, the number of questions in each subject will be increased to 30 and the total number of questions will be 90. However, no final decision has been taken with regard to the changes in the exam pattern. NTA will confirm the revised syllabus and pattern details along with the official notification.

JEE Main 2021 phase 1 exam has already been delayed. In all probability, the entrance exam may be conducted in the last week of February or March. The Phase 2 exam may be delayed till May.
