Kerala State Council for Science Launches Scheme for Promoting Young Talents in Science
The students who are pursuing education from Class VIII-XII come under SPYTiS-I. The students who are pursuing Polytechnic and UG course come under SPYTiS-II.
A scheme to promote young talents in science is launched by Kerala State Council for Science, Technology, and Environment. The competition is open to school, polytechnic and UG students from various schools and colleges of Kerala. The competition is based on doing a science project under SPYTiS-I and SPYTiS-II. The council conducts this competition every year.

Under this competition, a group of two or more students have to do a science project. The students who are pursuing education from Class VIII-XII come under SPYTiS-I. The students who are pursuing Polytechnic and UG course come under SPYTiS-II. The best science project will be eligible to win a cash prize. The duration of the project is one year.

The council provides financial assistance to the selected candidates for the competition. A sum of Rs.10,000 will be provided by the council for each team. The students must complete the project within a period of one year.
The main aim of this competition is to promote research support to the young talents. The applications are available on the official website of the council. The students who are interested in taking part in this competition can download the application. The application must be filled and sent to Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, Sasthra Bhavan, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram.
The applications must reach the council on or before 31-July-2016. The competition is open only for the students of Kerala.
