Maharashtra: Deemed Institutes Commence Medical Admissions Amid NEET Chaos

Most of the medical aspirants of Maharastra are seeking clarity from the government regarding admissions to private and deemed institutes. The government is awaiting the decision of Supreme Court. At this juncture, most of the deemed institutes have commenced the admission process and put up admission lists for the next batch.

The students are worried about the current situation. Earlier, the CM of Maharastra, Devendra Fadnavis assured 85% of seats to the students of the state. However, the students are in constant fear of losing the seats.

One of the parents said that some of the deemed universities across the state are inviting the students for the counselling. Some of the institutes have already released the merit lists and announced that the classes would begin from October 1, 2016. The deemed institutes are conducting admission process and are not bound to the rules laid by the state government.

One of the principals of deemed Institute said that they are conducting admissions as per the last order of the High Court. According to the guidelines issued by the Medical Council of India, the counselling and seat allotment must be completed by September 30, 2016. Hence, the colleges are trying to fill up the admissions before the deadline. The private institutes did not start the admission process.

Some of the parents met the CM Fadnavis and demanded to clear the deadlock of admissions as early as possible.
